In this course Dr. Hibbah Araba Osei-Kwasi explores the complex relationship between migration, health, and dietary practices among ethnic minority groups. This session will focus on how migration and cultural shifts impact dietary behaviors, particularly in African and Caribbean populations. Through a case study of a culturally tailored intervention, Dr. Osei-Kwasi will provide valuable insights into the key determinants of dietary practices and how to develop effective, culturally appropriate strategies to improve health outcomes.
Dr Hibbah Osei-Kwasi is a public health nutrition academic committed to improving nutrition and health particularly within African and Caribbean communities. With over a decade of experience, spanning research in dietary determinants, food environments to co-produced lifestyle interventions, her work is driving impactful, community-centred solutions. Hibbah’s research spans nutrition, psychology, and public health. Beyond academia, she is deeply committed to community engagement activities with various African and Caribbean communities in the UK. She regularly shares her knowledge through public talks, workshops, and social media engagements.
