In this webinar Dr Deepak Ravindran MD, DipBSLM/IBLM, FFPMRCA introduces healthcare professionals to an integrated, lifestyle medicine-based approach for managing chronic pain. It explores the role of diet, exercise, stress management, sleep, and other lifestyle factors in both alleviating pain and enhancing overall well-being. Participants will learn evidence-based strategies for addressing chronic pain through holistic interventions, empowering patients to take an active role in their recovery and improve quality of life. The session will also emphasize the importance of a personalized, multidisciplinary approach to pain management.
Dr Deepak Ravindran has over 20 years of experience in Pain Management and is a full time NHS Consultant in Pain Medicine at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, Berkshire, UK. He is one of the very few consultants in the UK who holds triple certification in musculoskeletal, pain medicine and lifestyle medicine. He lectures nationally and internationally on issues in Longcovid, Pain Medicine and Trauma informed practice and has regularly spoken to the media and television on these issues. He Helped establish the award-winning community pain service in Berkshire (IPASS) in 2015 and the Berkshire Longcovid Integrated Service (BLIS) in 2020. He is an active physician researcher and part of the Pain Research Network at the University of Reading. He has been Honours Management Graduate from the Henley Business School and has been awarded the National Apprentice of the Year for 2021 by Chartered Management Institute (CMI). He is the CMO for the digital rehabilitation platform, Boutros Bear, which focusses on supporting a patient in navigating the journey through chronic illnesses such as chronic pain, cancer and menopause. Dr Deepak Ravindran is the author of the Amazon Best Seller “The Pain Free Mindset” released in 2021. This book is aimed at patients suffering with pain but also immensely useful for all healthcare professionals in understanding all the recent advances around pain management in a trauma informed integrative manner. He brings that integrative holistic approach to the bedside in caring and providing a personalised plan for his patients.
