Medicine for the 21st Century

I set up the UK charity Yes
to Life

some 15 years ago with the aim of bringing choice to people with cancer, by
empowering them with good quality information on the ways they could go about
helping themselves live as well and as long as possible.

Primary to this was an examination of lifestyle
choices such as diet, sleep and exercise, with the aim of reducing excessive
stress, cutting down on toxins from poor quality food and other sources, and
energising the body with the best nutrition, exercise and other supportive
approaches.

15 years ago, the idea that any of this made any
difference to seriously ill people was seen in medical
circles as
simply whacky. So, it is particularly heartening to find a movement amongst
trainee doctors to wholeheartedly embrace the emerging science of Lifestyle
Medicine, and to push for inclusion of in-depth training in standard medical
training.

Nutritank
is inspirational, and it was a delight to
introduce our audience at our 2018 Conference to its passionate founders, Ally
Jaffee and Iain Broadley. And we are excited to feature Tally Abramovich and
Juliet Burridge representing Nutritank at our London
Conference

in 21st March.

Today the power of strategies such as focused
nutrition and programmed exercise to support health and healing from chronic
conditions is indisputable. But there is still a vast amount to be done before
Lifestyle Medicine becomes normal practice for doctors in the UK.

Kudos to Nutritank for taking on the challenge!
